At the end of the 1990s, Iris obtained a master’s degree in clinical psychology at Utrecht University and a master’s degree in neurobiology at the Pitie Salpetriere in Paris. She has worked as a psychologist in various institutions, including academic hospitals and mental health care, where she combined treatment of complex mental disorders with scientific research.
She obtained her PhD and completed her post-doctoral studies as a healthcare psychologist and as a cognitive behavioural therapist (VGCT), as well as her specialisation as a clinical neuropsychologist. She has published approximately 40 articles in various scientific journals. She also gained extensive experience as a supervisor and works as a lecturer within the postgraduate programmes for health care psychologist and clinical psychologist.
