Iris graduated in 2010 as a pedagogue from the Hogeschool Utrecht. Because she needed more in-depth knowledge and a theoretical background, she subsequently started the master’s in remedial education. In 2012 she graduated as a remedial educationalist from Utrecht University.
After graduating, she worked in a practice specialized in learning and behavior. Here she has gained a lot of experience with children, young people and adults with dyslexia and dyscalculia. In addition, she helped set up a department of child and adolescent psychology, in which she treated many children and young people with AD (H) D, anxiety complaints, a negative self-image and emotion regulation problems. In 2019 she completed the training as a health care psychologist and she completed the basic EMDR course.
Iris works as a GZ-psychologist at neuroCare Hengelo. She is mainly concerned with the diagnosis and treatment of children and young people. The combination of the use of neuromodulation techniques and psychotherapy really appeals to her. She is also very interested in sleeping problems. Iris finds it very important to build a good therapeutic relationship.
