Personal intake interview & assessment of sleep/ wake routines
During the first interview, the intake, you will talk to your practitioner about your concerns. In addition, a diagnostic interview will be conducted to further map out your symptoms. Often clients with depression, AD(H)D or other psychological complaints do not have a good night’s sleep. Sometimes even without their knowledge. Because sleep plays such an important role, we conduct an ‘actigraphy assessment’ with each client. This allows us to assess the quality and effectiveness of sleep and include this insight in the personalised treatment plan. Research and our experience in practice show that a client responds more quickly to their treatment if an underlying sleep problem is also addressed.
A quantitative EEG (QEEG) is a way to map brain activity. Our specially trained therapists can then assess the brain activity and on this basis propose a personalised treatment. For those with sleeping problems and/or AD(H)D-related concerns, a neuropsychological examination is also carried out in order to map out cognitive functioning.
After steps 1 and 2, the practitioner can give advice about your treatment. You will be informed about the working method, the duration of the treatment, the costs and the frequency of the appointments. The treatment starts when you agree to it.
We try to estimate in advance how long the treatment will last. However, this can only be experienced in practice. The course of the treatment will be evaluated regularly with you and adjusted where necessary.
